There are few locations that represent the great American Southwest as the dramatic landscape of Monument Valley. Made famous by the movie director John Ford, and immortalised in many John Wayne western movies, no visit to the region is complete without a tour of Monument Valley. Visitors should bear in mind that most of the valley is accessed by unpaved roads and that rental cars are not permitted on such roads.
