Day 1. Arrive Vancouver. On arrival at Vancouver Airport, you’ll be met and transferred to your hotel. Day 2. Vancouver. This morning, take a sightseeing tour of beautiful Vancouver that will introduce you to the city’s must-see attractions. Visit Stanley Park, a world-class, 400-hectare evergreen oasis located just steps away from downtown Vancouver. Then head to Granville Island, the bustling heart of Vancouver’s cultural scene. Here, wander amid the colourful public market. You’ll also see picturesque English Bay and Vancouver Harbour, before enjoying the afternoon and evening to spend at your leisure, discovering this vibrant harbourside city. You may like to wander through the old cobblestone streets of Gastown, the birthplace of Vancouver, whilst others may prefer to visit the shopping mecca of Robson Street. Day 3. Kamloops. This morning you’ll step aboard the famous Rocky Mountaineer and relax in the comfort of your GoldLeaf carriage as you set out into the mountains along the awe-inspiring route – the Journey through the Clouds, and take in the lush Fraser River Valley. See the towering peaks of the Coast Mountains; pass the thundering waters of Hell’s Gate in the Fraser Canyon; and glide past the steep rocky slopes as your train follows the Thompson River on its way to the city of Kamloops. Day 4. Mount Robson, Jasper. Your Rocky Mountaineer rail adventure continues north-east today, towards the majestic Canadian Rockies. Follow the North Thompson River through the Monashee Mountains and past Pyramid Creek Falls – where glacier-fed Pyramid Creek tumbles out of a hanging valley into the river below. After taking in the spectacular sight of Mount Robson – the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies – you’ll climb over the Yellowhead Pass on the way to beautiful Jasper National Park, where your wonderful rail journey concludes. Day 5. Jasper, Freedom of Choice Sightseeing. This morning you have the opportunity to personalise your holiday experience by selecting from a wide range of activities on offer in Jasper National Park. You might choose to take an exhilarating Harley Davidson Motorcycle Sidecar Tour; embark on a Maligne Valley Experience; go rafting down the Athabasca River; or perhaps ride the Jasper Tramway for views of the park. Alternatively, those more interested in nature might enjoy the chance to join an expert local guide and set out on an Interpretive Nature Hike through the forest of Jasper National Park. Following your activity, rejoin the rest of your fellow passengers and head over to the shores of Trefoil Lake, with a backdrop of Pyramid Mountain within the lodge grounds. Day 6. Icefields Parkway, Athabasca Glacier, Banff. This morning, you’ll set out over the renowned Icefields Parkway, a picturesque route that winds through the Canadian Rockies past the ancient glaciers, vast icefields, broad sweeping valleys and pristine lakes that straddle the Continental Divide. After pausing to take in Maligne Canyon and Athabasca Falls, stop at the giant Columbia Icefield. Here, you’ll board a specially-designed Ice Explorer vehicle and journey right onto the surface of Athabasca Glacier. Having entered Banff National Park, you will then be able to take the time to admire the shimmering turquoise waters of Peyto Lake before continuing on to the lovely mountain township of Banff and the magnificent ‘Castle in the Rockies’ – The Fairmont Banff Springs. Day 7. Banff, Freedom of Choice Sightseeing and Dining. After breakfast this morning, choose how you’d like to explore the region from an expanded range of Freedom of Choice Sightseeing Inclusions. Day 8. Moraine Lake, Lake Louise, Freedom of Choice Dining. Enjoy the opportunity this morning to Meet a Mountie and hear tales of the iconic Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Afterwards, board the Banff Gondola and ascend to the top of Sulphur Mountain, where you’ll be awestruck by the sweeping panoramic views out over six mountain ranges. Returning to the foot of the mountain, you’ll then enjoy a guided tour of the town, before setting out along the Trans-Canada Highway. Travel through the lush forest of Banff National Park to Moraine Lake, located in the Valley of the Ten Peaks. After pausing to admire the beauty of this stunning glacially-fed lake, continue on to The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. Here, after settling in, join an expert Mountain Heritage Guide and learn about the rich natural history of the region as you set off on a leisurely stroll beside the shoreline of this iconic lake. Day 9. Kelowna. Departing Lake Louise after breakfast, today you’ll cross Kicking Horse Pass, which takes you across the Continental Divide of the Americas and back into British Columbia. After descending from the magnificent Canadian Rockies, you’ll then travel through three of the province’s fabled national parks – Yoho, Glacier and Mt Revelstoke – before arriving in the city of Kelowna, located in the wine-producing region of the Okanagan Valley. Day 10. Whistler. Departing Kelowna, this morning you’ll follow the historic tracks of the early gold rush pioneers through the rugged Cariboo region. Travel via the remote rural town of Lillooet, and stop at both Seton and Duffey lakes to take in the stunning views here. Then re-enter the lush Coast Mountains on your way to the iconic alpine resort of Whistler. After settling in to your accommodation, enjoy a delicious dinner this evening. Day 11. Whistler, Freedom of Choice Sightseeing. For an insight into the heritage of Canada’s indigenous people, enjoy breakfast and a tour at the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre this morning. This afternoon, take an eco-trek to Lost Lake; enjoy a floatplane flight; explore Whistler Mountain on a 4WD or Snowcat adventure; enjoy a Mountain Jeep Safari; ride the Peak 2 Peak Gondola; or perhaps set out on a Tree Trek/Zip Trek. Day 12. Georgia Strait, Victoria. Today travel the Sea to Sky Highway via Shannon Falls to Horseshoe Bay. Here, ride a ferry to Vancouver Island and the small city of Nanaimo. Travel by coach via Chemainus, home to a number of outdoor murals, to Victoria.

You may like to go whale watching; take a seaplane flight; tour the city’s heritage district; go fishing for salmon; ride in a horse-drawn carriage; or delight in afternoon tea at The Fairmont Empress Hotel. Day 14. Holland America Line Cruise. Board your ship and this evening, enjoy a delightful Sail Away Dinner at the renowned Pinnacle Grill, plus a lunch here on the day of your choosing. Day 15. Cruise the Inside Passage. Enjoy a full day at sea as your ship cruises along coastal British Columbia and the Alaska Panhandle. Glide past rocky headlands and over the icy waters of the Inside Passage, one of the most picturesque sea-lanes in the world, and one of the few where deep-draft vessels can sail close to steep mountain walls. Day 16. Tracy Arm, Juneau. Today you will cruise to Tracy Arm, a twisting and narrow fjord. Then continue your journey to Alaska’s capital, Juneau, set at the foot of the majestic Coast Mountains on the Gastineau Channel. Day 17. Skagway. Today you’ll arrive in Skagway at the northernmost point of the Inside Passage. Once a gateway city for the Klondike Gold Rush, Skagway’s frontier-style atmosphere remains evident today. Here, a variety of unique excursions are on offer (own expense). Daily Meals Included: BLD
Day 18. Glacier Bay. Wake up to the breathtaking sight of World Heritage-listed Glacier Bay National Park, which boasts more actively calving tidewater glaciers than anywhere else in the world. As you cruise through the national park and take in the rivers of ice and sky-scraping peaks, you’ll benefit from the insightful commentary of local rangers who will come aboard your ship to explain the geological wonders and point out some of the diverse wildlife and marine mammals. Day 19. Ketchikan. Ketchikan is a cheerful town that’s set right on the shores of the Tongass Narrows, with many shops and houses built right out over the water. Besides the main attractions of the town itself, including the Tongass Historical Museum and Totem Bight State Park, Ketchikan also acts as a gateway to Misty Fjords National Monument – one of America’s largest wilderness areas.
