Day 1. Arrive Vancouver. Welcome to Canada! Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Your day is at leisure to relax and explore this wonderful city. This evening join your Tour Director and fellow travellers for a friendly and informal Welcome Reception. Stay: Vancouver, Empire Landmark Hotel.
Day 2. Vancouver Sightseeing, Butchart Gardens, Victoria. This morning, enjoy a sightseeing tour of Vancouver including the Waterfront, historic Gastown and Stanley Park. Later, we join our ferry for a cruise through the picturesque Georgia Strait and Gulf Islands to Vancouver Island. On arrival, we visit the world-famous Butchart Gardens where you have ample time to explore the wonderful floral displays. From here, a short drive takes us to Victoria, the charming capital city of British Columbia, famous for its distinct British feel. Two Night Stay: Victoria, Royal Scot Suite Hotel. BD
Day 3. Victoria at Leisure. Enjoy a full day at leisure in Victoria. Perhaps take a whale watching cruise in search of orcas or enjoy a horse drawn carriage tour of the inner harbour and surrounds. A visit to the ivy-clad Empress Hotel is a must! Here you can indulge with their famous English High Tea. Dinner is at leisure this evening, so you can enjoy the restaurants, cafés and pubs. B
Day 4. Victoria, Sun Peaks. Relax on a leisurely ferry ride as we return to the mainland this morning and head east into the heart of British Columbia. Travel through the broad Fraser Valley and enjoy a drive through the Cascade Mountain Range. Late afternoon we arrive in the resort village of Sun Peaks, tucked into the rolling mountains of British Columbia’s interior. The area is renowned for its virgin forests, cool alpine meadows, high mountain lakes and crystal-clear streams. Stay: Sun Peaks, Hearthstone Lodge. BD
Day 5. Mt Robson, Jasper. Today our journey follows the famous Yellowhead Highway. We pass Mt Robson, the highest point in the Canadian Rockies. This afternoon, we cross into Alberta and arrive in Jasper National Park, our gateway to the Canadian Rockies. Stay: Jasper Inn. BD
Day 6. Columbia Icefields, Lake Louise, Banff. This morning we travel along the spectacular Icefields Parkway. Have your camera ready today as the heavily glaciated terrain offers exceptional views. The Parkway is also known for its wildlife viewing so keep a lookout for elk, moose, big horn sheep, mountain goats and black bears. Marvel at the vivid colours of Peyto Lake and travel past the alpine meadows of Sunwapta Pass. We stop at the giant Columbia Icefield for a ride in an Ice Explorer onto the Athabasca Glacier. Later we stop at Lake Louise, the Jewel of the Rockies. The beautiful turquoise colour of the lake, with the backdrop of the Victoria Glacier will take your breath away.

Day 7. Banff at Leisure. As an option today, we suggest taking a gondola ride to the top of Sulphur Mountain for spectacular views of Banff and surrounds. Or visit Banff Springs Hotel, a designated historic site and a landmark of the Rockies. Alternatively join a wildlife safari to view and learn more about the local fauna (all activities at own expense). Tonight spend an evening in downtown Banff. B
Day 8. Banff, Rocky Mountaineer Train to Kamloops. Board the Rocky Mountaineer train and relax in the comfort of your RedLeaf coach as we cross the Continental Divide and descend through the Spiral Tunnels. Enter Rogers Pass and continue along the South Thompson River before arriving in Kamloops. This evening, perhaps enjoy a show and dinner (own expense). Stay: Kamloops, hotel as assigned by Rocky Mountaineer Vacations. CBL
Day 9. Kamloops, Rocky Mountaineer Train to Vancouver. Rejoining the Rocky Mountaineer, we continue our journey towards the Pacific Ocean. See the thundering waters of Hell’s Gate before entering the Fraser Canyon. View the peaks of the Coast Mountains. Late afternoon, we arrive in the city of Vancouver. Stay: Vancouver, Empire Landmark Hotel. CBLD
Day 10. Holland America Line Cruise. After breakfast, enjoy time at leisure before boarding your Holland America Line cruise ship the ms Statendam. Settle into your Stateroom for your 7 night luxury Alaskan cruise. BD
Day 11. Cruising Inside Passage. Enjoy a day at sea as your ship wends its way past rocky headlands, over the still waters of the Inside Passage. Explore your cruise ship. BLD
Day 12. Tracy Arm, Juneau. At the end of Tracy Arm fjord sits majestic Sawyer Glacier. Watch in awe as the glaciers creak and groan and finally calve, or break apart, and huge chunks of ice plummet into the freezing waters below. This afternoon you arrive in Juneau, Alaska’s capital, and one of the best places to experience a dog sled ride over a glacier, sample salmon baked over a fire or pan for gold (own expense). BLD
Day 13. Skagway. At the northernmost point of the Inside Passage, Skagway’s history as a frontier town and gateway for the gold rush is still evident. Enjoy free time discovering what gold prospecting was like back then, or take in the wildlife (own expense). BLD
Day 14. Glacier Bay. Wake up to the breathtaking sight of Glacier Bay National Park with its rivers of ice and peaks. Stand with your camera poised to catch glaciers calving. Rangers come on board to explain the geological wonders and point out some of the wildlife. BLD
Day 15. Ketchikan. As the salmon capital of the world, Ketchikan is the place to indulge in all things to do with salmon. Enjoy time at leisure and maybe join a walking tour of the town including visits to the busy fishing harbour and the historic red light district where the wooden houses that still stand today were built on stilts over the water. BLD
Day 16. The Inside Passage. Heading south through the Inside Passage, watch the majestic landscape slip by. BLD
Day 17. Vancouver. Arrive back in Vancouver. Enjoy time at leisure before your airport transfer. B
