Tanque Verde Guest Ranch
An historic working ranch and four-star resort, Tanque Verde Ranch combines the adventurous lifestyle of the Old West will all the amenities of a world-class resort. Founded in 1868 by Emilio Carrillo, Tanque Verde Ranch dates from the times when Apache raids were a daily concern and the cavalry patrols from historic Fort Lowell stopped at the "Green Tank" to water their horses.
Located on 640 acres in the foothills of the Rincon Mountains east of Tucson and bordered by the Saguaro National Monument and the Coronado National Forest, Tanque Verde Ranch offers a wide range of activities in an environment conducive to relaxation and tranquillity. The principle activities at the ranch are horse riding, with lessons for beginners, picnic and
breakfast rides, all day and overnight pack trips, and guest participation rodeo. Five tennis courts (lessons available), indoor and outdoor swimming pools, saunas, exercise room, hiking, volleyball, basketball, fishing, barbecue and Mexican Fiesta dinners and a range of evening programmes complete the broad range of activities. For children aged 4 to 11 years there are fully supervised riding, nature and arts programmes. Just America will be pleased to provide sample Children's Programme information upon request. All horse riding, lessons, children's activities and meals are included in the Just America rates.
The 74 authentically decorated rooms have en-suite bathroom, air-conditioning and are scattered over a lovely hillside offering beautiful desert and mountain views. Most rooms are spacious and have adobe fireplaces and outside private patios.
