This classic vacation reveals a wealth of splendors! Picture New England's waking meadows sweet with fragrant air, summer sails and brisk breezes as you wander through old mansions, museums and places from history books.

Rich in tradition and brimming with antique charm, there is no corner of North America as picturesque, diverse or culturally rewarding.

1. Arrive Boston. Tour begins: Omni Parker House Hotel at 6:30 PM. Welcome to Boston, where America's history began. This evening you are invited to a 6:30 PM welcome reception and dinner. Meals: D

2. Boston / Cambridge. Boston is truly the cradle of American liberty! A city sightseeing tour includes views of Faneuil Hall, Old State House and South Meeting House. Visit Old North Church, and cross the Charles River to Cambridge to see Harvard, Radcliffe, and the common where George Washington took command of the Continental Army. The afternoon is free to explore, perhaps walking the "Freedom Trail" through the streets of historic Boston, or cruise the scenic waters of Boston Harbor. Meals: B

3. Lexington / Concord / Salem.  Follow the route of Paul Revere's ride through historic Lexington and Concord. The events which led to the Revolutionary War will unfold at every turn in the road, climaxed by a visit to the "rude bridge that arched the flood" where stands Concord's renowned Minute Man statue. Travel through the scenic landscapes of Massachusetts to Salem for a visit to the beautiful streetscapes of McIntire Historic District; see Chestnut Street's numerous Federal-Era townhouses and other notable pre-1900 residential homes. Journey to the historic city of Portsmouth, New Hampshire where European settlers first arrived in 1603, prospering in private shipbuilding . Meals: BD

4. Coastal Maine / White Mtns. Travel today along the rugged coast of Maine to Portland.  Enjoy a special Tauck experience when you board a lobster boat* for a scenic, educational cruise.  The captain guides you through the daily routines of a Maine lobsterman where you'll learn just about everything there is to know about the lobster!  Drive into New Hampshire's White Mountains for one night in North Conway; this evening, attend a fascinating presentation offering an in-depth view of the botany, wildlife and unique environment of the North Woods.  Meals: BLD

5. White Mtns. / Green Mtns. Journey Via Crawford Notch, and Franconia Notch, where you'll take a short walk in the basin. On a clear day you will be able to view Mount Washington, New England's tallest peak. Travel to Hanover for a visit to the Ivy League college of Dartmouth, and enjoy an a la carte lunch at the historic Hanover Inn before a stop inthe riverside village of Quichee for a visit to theVermont Institute of Natural Sciences.  Arrive in Plymouth, set in the heart of the Green Mountains; a "Taste of Vermont" reception featuring wine and local cheese precedes dinner at your leisure.   Meals: BLD

6. Rural Vermont / Woodstock. With its quaint covered bridge, Woodstock is a quintessential Vermont village.  The Billings Farm and Museum provides insights into life in rural Vermont, past and present.  In Plymouth, visit the birthplace of Calvin Coolidge, and see the historic buildings contructed by his father in 1890.  Take an optional nature walk this afternoon or enjoy the amenities of the resort. Meals: BD

7. Berkshires / Stockbridge. Journey today through the beautiful "Green Mountain State" of Vermont. Hills give way to valleys where typical New England villages, complete with colonial homes and pastoral farmland, are viewed. Travel to the quaint town of Stockbridge for an inspiring visit to the fascinating Norman Rockwell Museum, featuring an in-depth collection of his famous Saturday Evening Post covers. Artists and writers have sought inspiration in the scenic Berkshire Hills for centuries. Join us tonight for a farewell recption and dinner tonight at your hotel tucked away in the Berkshires. 8. Journey Home.  Depart Pittsfield through the Pioneer valley of the Connecticut River for a visit to Deerfield, a National Historic District with 30 buildings more than 250 years old, continuing to Boston. Tour ends: Boston's Logan Airport at approximately 4:00 PM or Omni Parker House Hotel at 5:00 PM. Allow a minimum of two hours for flight check-in. Meals BL
