Days 1 & 2. Greater Boston, MA Arrive at the "Athens of America." Explore the Freedom Trail, shop at Quincy Market, take a whale-watch cruise. Visit our Welcome Meeting for sightseeing and attractions at special rates. Overnight: Doubletree Downtown, Boston.

Day 3. To Mid Coast Maine (107 miles) Collect your rental car this morning from the Boston Airport depot and travel the coast, stopping in Kittery for great factory outlet shopping! In historic Portland, enjoy the charming Old Port Exchange and, of course, lobster!  Overnight: Eastland Park Hotel.

Days 4 & 5 To Bar Harbor Area, ME(162 miles) Arrive in Bar Harbor at the entrance to Acadia National Park on Mt. Desert Island. Plan a whale watch cruise, or enjoy the striking scenery and mountain trails in the park. Overnight: Atlantic Oakes by the sea, Bar Harbor.

Days 6 & 7. To White Mountains, NH (317 miles) In the White Mountains, drive to the summit of Mt. Washington.  Take the Conway Scenic Railroad, or head to the Lakes Region. Overnight: Eagle Mountain House.

Days 8 & 9. To Green Mountains (171 miles) If you spent the night in Jackson or North Conway, head along the Kancamagus Highway to Lincoln. Travel south to glimpse Lake Winnipesaukee or Lake Squam. En route, you may visit scenic Woodstock or charming Queechee Gorge. Overnight: Holiday Inn Rutland.

Day 10. To Connecticut River Valley (174 miles) Travel to Rutland, once center of the Vermont marble industry. Manchester Village is a lovely stop on your way to the Berkshire Hills of Massachusetts. Visit the Francine Clarke Art Institute or the Hancock Shaker Village, a restored 19th century settlement. Continue to Lenox, summer home of the Boston Symphony and Stockbridge, once home to Norman Rockwell, one of America's greatest artists. The Norman Rockwell Museum houses many of his works.  Overnight: Sturbridge Host Hotel.

Days 11 & 12. To Newport, RI (127 miles)  Before heading to Newport, you may visit Old Sturbridge Village, a living 19th century museum, or Mystic, Connecticut, and Mystic Seaport Museum, America's largest maritime museum. Continue to Newport, summer resort of America's first millionaires. Spend the day on a spectacular beach, tour the Cliff Walk and Ten Mile Drive with its extravagant summer mansions. Newport's restored waterfront sports many shops and restaurants. Overnight: Hotel Viking.

Days 13 & 14. To Cape Cod (75 miles) Travel to Cape Cod, a fabulous summer resort with white sandy beaches, and abundant attractions. Plan a whale watch cruise, visit historic Chatham or colorful, artistic Provincetown, or take a day trip to Martha's Vineyard or Nantucket. Overnight: Sheraton Four Points, Hyannis.

Day 15. To Boston (75 miles) En route to Logan Airport, visit Sandwich, the Cape's oldest town. In Plymouth, visit Plimoth Plantation, a living museum depicting life in 1627. Travel to Boston, drop your car and catch your flight home.
