Days 1 & 2. Boston, MA
Commence your holiday with a two nights stay in the "Athens of America."
Your hotel is the historic and charming Omni Parker House Hotel, in the heart of the city. Explore the Freedom Trail, shop at Quincy Market. Visit Cambridge and Harvard University, or take a whale watch cruise. The ideal way to see Boston is to take an Old Town Trolley tour for which we have arranged a discount price. Day 3. To Kennebunkport, ME (91 miles) Travel along the North Shore of Massachusetts, through coastal New Hampshire and into Maine. (Stop in Kittery for outstanding factory outlet shopping!) Visit the summer communities of Kennebunk and Kennebunkport where you can view the seasonal home to former US President George Bush. Overnight: 1 night Kennebunkport at the Nonantum Resort & Inn.

Day 4. To White Mountains (102 miles) Head inland via the Maine Lakes District to New Hampshire and the White Mountains. More fabulous shopping at North Conway then through magnificent scenery to Jackson, which you will enter via a covered bridge!
Overnight: 1 night White Mountains at the Eagle Mountain House. "Step back in time...to

Day 5. To Green Mountains (86 miles) Drive to the summit of Mt Washington, shop, visit the "Old Man of the Mountain" rock formation and then cross the border into Vermont. A chance perhaps to see the "Rock of Ages," the world's largest dimension granite quarries, or enjoy a maple tour and tasting at Morse Farm. Perhaps visit the quaint village of Stowe, overlooked by Mt. Mansfield, the highest peak in Vermont, before arriving at your home for the next two nights, near Burlington and Lake Champlain. Overnight: 2 nights at the Inn at Essex which presides over 18 beautiful acres with pastoral backdrops, outdoor pool and gardens. There are panoramic views of the Adirondack and Green Mountains. The Inn's restaurants serve epicurean delights prepared by the chefs and students of the acclaimed New England Culinary Institute.
Day 6. Green Mountains, VT A leisure day for touring the Green Mountain State. Take the short drive to Burlington, perched on the banks of Lake Champlain. Visit the Ethan Allen Homestead to recall the colorful days of the Green Mountain Boys, perhaps a scenic cruise on Lake Champlain or a visit to Shelburne Museum.
Day 7. To The Berkshires (228 miles) Drive south to see the quintessential New England village of Woodstock with its traditional shops and covered bridge. Time also to see the scenic Quechee Gorge, New England's mini Grand Canyon, before arriving in Massachusetts and the gentle Berkshire Hills. Perhaps visit the Hancock Shaker Village, a restored 19th century settlement and then Lenox, summer home of the Boston Symphony. Your final destination is Stockbridge, once home to Norman Rockwell, one of America's greatest artists. The Norman Rockwell Museum, containing many of his works as well as changing exhibits, is worth a visit. Overnight: 1 night Stockbridge at the Red Lion Inn. In a lovely Berkshire Hills town that was once an Indian Village this historic inn bids you a warm welcome. Relax amidst the charm of Staffordshire china, colonial pewter and 18th- century furniture while enjoying contemporary comfort.
Day 8 & 9. To Newport, RI (157 miles)
Before heading to Newport, you may visit Old Sturbridge Village, a living 19th century museum, or Mystic, Connecticut, and Mystic Seaport Museum, America's largest maritime museum. Continue to Newport, summer resort of America's first millionaires. Tour the Cliff Walk and Ten Mile Drive with its extravagant summer mansions. Newport's restored waterfront sports many shops and restaurants. Overnight: 2 nights Newport at the Inn at Newport Beach, Cleveland House, Clarkeston Inn, Elm Street Inn or Carriage House Inn. These inns are situated in the delightful old seaport town of Newport. They offer charming Colonial hospitality with the comforts of today.
Day 10. To Cape Cod, MA (92 miles) It's a short drive to Olde Cape Cod where white sandy beaches, quaint villages, antique shops, lakes, ponds and nature reserves contrast with the tang of the salt sea air and echoes of the Pilgrims who first landed here. Overnight: 2 nights at the Belfry Inne, Sandwich, Cape Cod. Set, like a jewel in the heart of historic Sandwich Village, The Belfry Inne beams its warming welcome. The Inne, one of Sandwich Village's highlights, comprises of an erswhile church, the Abbey and its former manse, Drew House - two elegant architectural masterpieces. Day 11. Cape Cod Plan a whale-watch cruise, visit colorful, artistic Provincetown and perhaps tonight a farewell New England Lobster Dinner. Why not extend your stay on Cape Cod and take a day excursion to nearby Martha's Vineyard or the old whaling island of Nantucket?
Day 12. To Boston, MA (89 miles) Boston's Logan Airport is 1.5 hours drive from Cape Cod and en-route you'll have time to visit picturesque Sandwich, the Cape's oldest town and at Plymouth the Plimoth Plantation, a living museum of 1627 life.
