Days 1 & 2. Greater Boston, MA Arrive at the "Athens of America." Explore the Freedom Trail, ride the Swanboats in the Public Gardens, shop at Quincy Market, take a whale watch cruise. Visit our Welcome Meeting for sightseeing and attractions at special rates. Overnight: Doubletree Downtown, Boston.

Days 3 & 4. To White Mountains, NH (164 miles) Collect your rental car this morning from the Boston Airport depot and journey north into New Hampshire. En route, visit Salem and later, shop North Conway's factory outlets. If you are traveling to Lincoln, journey along the Kancamagus Highway. In the White Mountains, visit Franconia Notch. Take the Conway Scenic Railroad, or visit the Lakes Region; rent a boat or take a cruise. Overnight: Eagle Mountain House.

Day 5. To Green Mountains (130 miles) If you spent the night in Jackson or North Conway, head along the Kancamagus Highway to Lincoln. Travel south for a glimpse of Lake Winnipesaukee or Lake Squam. In Vermont, stop at Queechee Gorge, a mini Grand Canyon, for breathtaking vistas, or in the quaint village of Woodstock with its traditional covered bridge. Overnight: Holiday Inn Rutland.

Day 6. To Lake Placid, NY (135 miles) Travel along the edge of the Green Mountains via the charming village of Middlebury into New York State and through the Adirondack Mountains to Lake Placid, site of the 1980 Winter Olympics. Overnight: Crowne Plaza Lake Placid. 

Days 7 & 8. To Niagara Falls (375 miles) Niagara Falls appeals to something in everyone. The sudden drop of the Niagara River, dividing the US and Canada, creates one of the most spectacular waterfalls on the continent. The Niagara rapids reach speeds of 48 kilometers per hour (30 mph). Enjoy a Maid of the Mist cruise, a helicopter tour or a walk along the banks. Drive to Niagara on the Lake, a quaint town. Overnight: Sheraton On The Falls.

Days 9 & 10. To Sturbridge, MA (413 miles) Begin early for a journey along the edge of the New York Finger Lakes region, past the foothills of the Adirondacks, over the Hudson River into Massachusetts' Berkshire Hills. Spend your day exploring Old Sturbridge Village, a living museum of the 19th century. Overnight: Sturbridge Host Hotel.

Days 11 & 12. To Newport, RI (127 miles) Head directly for Newport, or stop in Mystic, Connecticut, and Mystic Seaport Museum, America's largest maritime museum. In Newport, summer resort of America's first millionaires, spend the day on a spectacular beach, tour the Cliff Walk and Ten Mile Drive with its extravagant summer mansions and the restored waterfront. Overnight: Hotel Viking.

Days 13 & 14. To Cape Cod (75 miles) Travel to Cape Cod, a fabulous summer resort with white sandy beaches, varied shopping, restaurants and abundance of attractions. Plan a whale watch cruise; visit the historical village of Chatham or colorful, artistic Provincetown. Take a day trip to Martha's Vineyard or Nantucket or simply lounge on the beach. 2 nights Cape Cod. Overnight: Sheraton Four Points, Hyannis.

Day 15. To Boston (75 miles) En route to Boston's Logan Airport, visit Sandwich, the Cape's oldest town and home to the Sandwich Glass Museum. Head for Plymouth, where the Pilgrims landed, explore Plimoth Plantation, a living museum depicting life in 1627. Travel to Boston, drop your car and catch your flight home.
