WEEKEND AND SHOPPING BREAKS
Welcome to New York! As most New Yorkers will tell you, you have not arrived in the United States, as New York is a world of its own. You could spend your entire vacation in the 'Big Apple' and you may still not be able to see all the museums and every Broadway show you would like.
There are so many attractions in New York, so much to see and do, it is a challenge in a weekend to do them all, but the must do’s include the Empire State Building, a Broadway Show, the shops of Fifth Avenue, Greenwich Village, the gallaries and museums and the harbour cruises. A Gray Line Loop tour of Manhattan will enable you to see the major landmarks, and a cruise around the island of Manhattan or across the harbour to Liberty Island provides a superb view of the skyline – especially at night.
Hotel Edison Terrific location - right on Times Square, in the heart of the Broadway theatre district; friendly staff; comfortable rooms and excellent value for money.
The 1000 rooms at the Edison are small - common in older city hotels - but clean and comfortable. Each is air-conditioned, has private bathroom, colour TV and hairdryer (on request). The hotel has two restaurants (one offering breakfast; the other providing lunch and dinner). However, the huge choice of restaurants, delis and coffee-shops within easy walking distance of the Edison provides a wide choice of dining. Being in the heart of the entertainment centre of midtown Manhattan, the Edison is an ideal base for enjoying the theatres of Broadway, New York's legendary shopping and the many museums and galleries - many of which are within walking distance of the hotel.
We can also offer a wide choice of hotels and apartments – all conveniently located in the heart of Manhattan – and we can book sightseeing tours in advance.
