Important information regarding the information we collect from you in order to process your holiday.
The information we collect applies to:
- Information provided by clients for the purpose of booking their holiday.
We use the following information to book your holiday –
- Dates of birth.
- Passport details (number, expiry, nationality, place of issue).
- Disabilities, health issues.
- Hotel room/bedding preferences.
- Postal address (for dispatch of travel documents).
- Contact details (email and telephone)
- Payment details (only the last four digits of your card, expiry date, amount and authorization code are retained after the transaction has been processed).
Why we require your data? We are required to provide airlines, hotels, car/motorhome companies and other travel providers with some or all of this information in order to make reservations on your behalf. Some of these organisations are outside of the European Economic Area (EEA) i.e. Canada and the USA, however adequate safeguards are in place to protect your data. The European Commission has recognized Canada and the USA as providing adequate data protection.
How long is your data held? In accordance with the current requirements we hold your data for seven years following the end of your holiday and it may be referred to for subsequent holidays you may book with Just America Limited. After seven years your data will be completely deleted.
Where is your data stored. This information is securely stored by our third party provider Dolphin Dynamics Limited based in London. Your right to access data. You have the right to request access to the data we hold about you. There is no charge for this. You also have the right to have your personal data rectified if it is inaccurate or incomplete. You also have the right to request that the data we hold about you is deleted where there is no compelling reason for its continued processing (your right to be forgotten).
Portability of data. Your right to data portability applies when processing is carried out by an automated means; and is based on consent or because the processing is necessary for the performance of a contract; and where the data has been provided to the data controller by the individual. This includes data generated by observing the individual’s activity, e.g. past bookings and expenditure. You have the right to obtain and reuse your personal data for your own purposes across different services. You can move, copy or transfer from one IT environment to another in a safe and secure way. You have the right to withdraw your consent for the data to be used.
Your right to complain. For companies in the UK and, in any event, for data subjects born, working or living in the UK, you have the right to complain to the Data Controller and Data Protection Officer at Just America Limited or the Information Commissioner’s Office.
